Kale Chips

Super Spicy (Bali Style) Kale Chips

Raw, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Nut-Free

 

Adapted from Spicy and Cheesy Kale Chips

Ingredients:

  • 2  bunches of kale, washed, dried, stems removed and cut/torn into medium sized pieces
  • 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 1-2 hours
  • 3 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 4 Thai Chili Peppers (the super hot kind you find at specialty Asian Markets like Lion Supermarket)
  • 1/2 tsp of pink Himalayan sea salt (available at Trader Joe's & Health Stores)
  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper

Preparation:

  1. Add all ingredients expect the kale to a high powered blender or food processor. Process until you get a smooth consistency
  2. Massage sauce onto kale with hands
  3. Dehydrate (at 115°) until crispy (8-12 hours)*                          (I line the dehydrator w/wax paper for an easier clean up job!)
  4. Enjoy with a tall glass of water! 
 *If you don't have a food dehydrator, add 1-2 Tbsp of EVO and bake them at 350° for 10-15min or until crispy.
